I used a mixture of pencil, ink black crayon, ink and ink wash for this one. I wanted to get it looking as close to the original as possible. Different colourist from Steve Epting's original cover but I think it's pretty close. Steve kindly sent the original text so I just had to change a bit of it to add in the Apes references.

Once I got the text right I whited-out the areas where the arm would go, printed it off and then got it photocopied onto Marvel cover stock so I could work the hand and banana into it. I think the banana really works!
