I had really high hopes for this one. I'd bought some new paints, expensive ones at that - the kind Vermeer is said to have used. Unfortunately I struggled to come to terms with new materials and ended up feeling very frustrated with the finished image.

To top it off Vicky (my wife) hired 'The Girl with a Pearl Earring' the night I finished it - more Vermeer! The basic compsition is fine - I just wish I'd had more time to get it as I'd originally envisaged. Result: new paints abandoned!
