The first drawing I did for this, everyone looked happily majestic in an angelic kind of way. I did it whilst in Italy and under the influence of the art (and wine) there. It wasn't really befitting of an aerial dogfight between the JSA and Black Adam's crew, so I added some screaming to it. I got really jaded with painting wings on this one!

Originally, I was going to have this battle take place in the evening with a brown colour base. Peter Tomasi thought it would be cool for the fight to take place at night. I tried to have the characters moonlit without actually including the moon itself in the image, the only other light source being Green Lantern's ring. I think it works realyl well despite Hawkman looking somewhat too blue.
