These pencils were for a painting I was doing earlier this year as an experiment. I wanted to work out a few techniques, using a rough underpainting and messing around with different skin tones.

The painting is lying around half finished in my studio. It all fell to pieces when my wife pointed out that Hawkman's beak was way off-centre. I spent a long time trying to sort it out which ultimately sapped my enthusiasm. I did get to try out some stuff that worked though!
