I knew I'd have to paint rain one day, I just didn't know how I was going to do it. I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with this image and haven't really decided if I like it. In retrospect I could have spent a lot longer on the drops of water but I've received a lot of positive feedback and praise for the image, which is encouraging.

I really have to thank Paul, the model I use for Hawkman, for spending an entire Saturday morning crouched on a crate in his shower so I could get some decent reference shots. I thought after this, and issue #18 when I had him covered in baby oil and ground charcoal, that the photo shoots wouldn't get any weirder. Then came issue #21...
